How Alnieciai Built Their House

The autumn season is usually opened with a company outing.  This traditional event includes elements of socially useful, physical and productive work. This is an obligatory condition of such outings.  For instance, during the 2005 autumn outing at the Center of Europe Open Air Museum on the outskirts of Vilnius, Alna employees constructed a pyramid-like house. For the entire day, more than 200 people exchanged their PC’s for hammers, saws, and planes. By building this house, they symbolically established what they had been doing for sixteen years – they built Alna Company.  Alna employees have demonstrated themselves to be skillful construction workers – they installed two doors, a window, and even built a balcony. They placed a bench and a table that were assembled right there inside the house. A laptop appeared on the table; however, it was made of wooden planks.
