UAB Elektroskandia is a Lithuanian subsidiary of Elektroskandia Oy, one of Finland's leading electrical wholesalers.

 Challenge

UAB Elektroskandia had no data warehouse system and due to a rapidly increasing amount of data, as well as the division of databases for stock control, purchasing and sales statistics, data analysis was becoming impeded. It was complicated to perform required queries, hard to track slow-moving stock and it was complex to carry out purchase planning and sales analysis. There was a need to create a centralized information database, to extend the functionality and to unify and redesign the stock management process and purchase planning.

 Solution

Alna Business Solutions integrated the OLAP and Data Warehouse systems. As a result of the implementation, Elektroskandia is able to receive dynamic information from a central database about stock, sales and purchasing statistics. In the Data Warehouse system, a special procedure was developed and thus all information was streamlined into one place, giving Elektroskandia the possibility to analyse information with speed and to have modifying statistical reports.

The project was conducted in close cooperation between our customer and our team of specialists, who completed business processes analyse, collection of requirements, design, implementation, personnel education and the deployment of the personalized solution.

Managers in Elektroskandia now enjoy improved activity tracking and planning. The system was installed on time and is constantly maintainable and updateable. The success of this project depended on the cooperation between both companies and the properly organized work, methodology and a qualification and experience of our specialists
