New Billing System for Vilniaus Vandenys
Client UAB Vilniaus Vandenys is one of the largest Lithuanian water supply utilities. Challenge Vilnius Vandenys had an old version of a billing system, which had complex functionality and generated a high intensity of work. The results of this were a gap between the contract database and the billing database, an impossibility to insert information into database by different users at the same time and an inefficient system of report preparation, often outdated. In addition, with processes involving many employees, it was consuming in terms of time and resources and it was impossible to trace information about defaulters. Vilniaus Vandenys needed more timely and qualitative company information. Solution For an extended period, Vilniaus Vandenys had been searching for a Billing system that would meet the needs of the company, would have a high functionality and would be easily developed. Our company was selected as a partner and we customized and implemented the Navision Attain system on the grounds of the SQL database. The system has about 50 users and covers both residents and organizational accounting. Our team of specialists carried out analyse of the current situation, then conducted precise planning, testing, training and deployment of the new system. … By implementing a new Billing system, a central database was formed in which different users could insert information at the same time, with a significant reduction in time taken for the issuing of bills and reporting. This significantly shortens customers’ time resources for accounting purposes. Other notable improvements included the possibility to have comprehensive reports, the advent of fewer mistakes and the reduction in paper work. The integration of the central database and bank programs allowed the company to track information immediately and saw the introduction of a financial charge memo. In addition, the website of Vilniaus Vandenys was improved, allowing clients to check their own payment history. The system was installed on time, with no budget overrun, and is constantly maintainable and updateable. The success of this project depended on the properly organized work, the methodology and the qualification and experience of our specialists.
