Computer hardware and software implementation at the Lithuanian Labour Exchange Customer
The Lithuanian Labour Exchange, under the Ministry of Social Security
and Labour, covers 46 remote subdivisions known as territorial labour
exchanges.
Challenge
Under the long-term development strategy for 2004-2006, worked out by
the Lithuanian Labour Exchange, implementation of IT systems is
supposed to become an area of special focus. Therefore, our challenge
was to implement the system which would help the labour exchange to
achieve a higher quality and more effective provision of job
demand/supply related services and information to society, business
people and other institutions and to ensure a more transparent decision
making process.
Solution
Alna Intelligence proposed a centralised computer hardware and software
implementation project. Based on the comprehensive analysis of
Lithuanian Labour Exchange needs at its 46 territorial labour
exchanges, four Hewlett-Packard servers and 350 Hewlett-Packard
personal computers were installed, along with printers, scanners and
other peripheral facilities, plus Microsoft and Symantec software was
implemented in the work places. The total value of the project totalled
2.55 million litas. Alna Intelligence also undertook the commitment of
supervising the implemented hardware and software and providing
warrantee maintenance services for a period of three years.
Outcome
At the Lithuanian Labour Exchange and the territorial labour exchanges,
Alna Intelligence has designed and implemented systems of providing
public services intended for businesses and residents via the Internet,
mobile phone and e-mail. The established system of public services on
the supply and search for jobs is integrated with the national system
on the registration of job vacancies and searches for jobs in
Lithuanian and the E.U. |
