Alna Intelligence Implements Data Security System for SODRA

The State Social Insurance Fund Board (SODRA), under the Ministry of Social Security and Labour, has implemented a data security system. The objective of the project was both to secure the data collected by the enterprise and to enable its personnel to exchange information safely. The project was implemented by Alna Intelligence, an Information Technologies (IT) Consulting and Services Company.

Alna Intelligence specialists developed and installed the security system based on Clearswift MIMEsweeper and Symantec technologies. This security system will protect corporate e-mails against viruses and spam. Furthermore, the new system will also prevent leakages of confidential information as the technology is capable of analysing whether outgoing messages contain private, personal, corporate or other confidential data, and, if required, automatically blocking their despatch.

According to Mindaugas Strumskis, the Deputy Director of SODRA, “Until now, computer security measures were installed for each individual workplace of the enterprise. This newly implemented transition to centralised computer security guarantees more effective data security and continuous update of security tools.”
Kazimieras Tonkūnas, the Director of Alna Intelligence added that the implemented data security system in SODRA could block about 250 spam letters per hour. The system continuously checks whether the spam sender is listed into the ever-updated spammer lists. Technology developers claim that the system updates the spammer lists every 8 hours. Moreover, it enables the tightening of Internet browsing and, thus, saves corporate costs for communication services.

“Our specialists have installed a multilevel security system that filters incoming and outgoing data flow as well as localises security violations within the company,” maintains the Director of Alna Intelligence.

Covering three thousand workplaces and taking three months to implement, the data security system project is the largest project of this kind so far undertaken by Alna Intelligence.

Mr Strumskis claims that the SODRA information system is complex in respect to both its broad geographic coverage and wide array of provided services, as well as in its required integrity with the information systems of other state institutions. “For these reasons, the new data security system implemented with the assistance of Alna Intelligence will provide the essential grounds for further security development of the SODRA information network,” Mr Strumskis concluded.
