Alna Intelligence press release: Alna Intelligence to supervise the number porting system The Baltic States’ largest IT consulting and service company Alna Intelligence signed a contract with Mano numeris regarding the maintenance of the number porting administration system. Under a three-year co-operation contract, Alna Intelligence will provide maintenance, emergency response and call centre services for the system's hardware and part of the software.
“Faultless operation of the number porting administration system is critically important to ensure a fluent migration of telecoms' subscribers. For this reason we decided to outsource the maintenance of the system's software and hardware to the professionals in the IT field. Particularly now when numbers of migrating subscribers are rapidly increasing,” says Mano numeris director Artūras Mickevičius. Last year this company won the tender procedure called for by the Communications Regulatory Authority and has currently been in charge of the administration of the number porting central database.
According to Alna Intelligence director Kazimieras Tonkūnas, their services are subject to extra-high quality requirements. Alna Intelligence has committed to ensure a 99.5% annual rate of faultless operation of the number porting administration system. In addition, the maintenance services for the hardware and software components of this critical system will be provided continuously 24 hours a day seven days a week.
The launching of the number portability service in Lithuania was completed on 1 February 2006. From this date onwards all telecommunications customers who shift their mobile communications operator and keep their telephone number have been able to use all the services available from operators.
According to the information published by the Communications Regulatory Authority of the Republic of Lithuania (CRA), 57,700 customers accepted the number portability service before 1 February 2006 and 89,800 customers before the 1st of June this year.
Alna Intelligence has offered IT consulting and services to customers not only in Lithuania, but also in the United Kingdom, Germany and the Netherlands, as well as Latvia, Estonia and Poland. The company employs more than 120 staff members. In late 2005, its earnings from IT consulting and services in Lithuania and Latvia accounted for LTL 47.02 million, i.e. by 35% more compared with 2004.
