Alna Provides Software Outsourcing Services for One of the Largest Banks in Europe
Client Deutsche Bank, one of the leading international financial services providers. With 68,500 employees, the bank serves more than 13 million customers in 76 countries worldwide Challenge Deutsche Bank operates an application that was originally based on Microsoft Access. The system needed to be upgraded and changed to run on Sybase ASE. Simultaneously, the bank decided to implement a new web-based interface instead of the existing GUI and to improve the business logic of the system. In order to develop the system, Deutsche Bank decided to find a reliable outsourcing partner with knowledge and experience in the banking sector and was willing to engage in a long-term partnership. The bank expected that nearshore outsourcing would result in a smoother and more effective communication due to geographical and cultural proximity. After a screening process of potential partners in the Baltic States, Deutsche Bank chose to work with Alna. Alna Proves to be the Right Outsourcing Partner Alna Software specialists carried out a new web-based system that is used for accounting and report generation of financial instruments such as interest rates, currency exchanges, etc. The system ensures that all operations are done in accordance with the Financial Accounting Standards Board FAS133 statement. The solution has a flexible two level user rights system allowing the user to access personal or department information. In addition to this, the system provides data exchange with other operating systems. It allows the importing of data from Microsoft Excel and CSV file formats. The solution has already been deployed in Deutsche Bank branches in London, Frankfurt, Tokyo, New York and Hong Kong. Alna Software provided a team of 2-3 software developers that worked in close cooperation with the technical experts and management of Deutsche Bank GMF IT division. They took responsibility for system development, maintenance and unit testing. Our team successfully exploited an off-shore model, when all tasks were performed at Alna Software premises using the pre-configured server shipped by Deutsche Bank. Outsourcing to Alna Software proved to be the right choice for Deutsche Bank in terms of communication, technical expertise and cost effectiveness and, therefore, the bank has extended its cooperation with Alna Software for a year, using the same model.
